split novella

 dba020

Nearly 5 years in the making (although most of that spent dilly dallying), this "split novella" is an exploration in defying the boundaries of artistic medium. Jake Anderson (of Yuma Nora / Celesteville) does a cover of the Rose For Bohdan classic song "What Heavy Metal Taught Us" in the form of a short story. Brian Miller (of Rose For Bohdan / Foot Village) does a cover of a Jake Anderson drawn comic book called "Companion Piece" in the form of a short story. Jake transforms the Rose For Bohdan song from a testament to the glory of METAL into a proud fictional history of his own ancestors. Brian takes Jake's very personal memoirs and gives them a blast of sci-fi in a story about the next step in (automotive) evolution. The results were then bound in the most ridiculous manner possible and stuffed into mimeographed envelopes.
For a fantastic trip into the surreal, for those interested in reading music (and we mean this in the psychedelic sense, not the violin lesson one), for a couple tales of adventure that embrace the nonsense that is fun, make sure to read this "split novella."
